Partnering for a Better Tomorrow: Rotary and Rotaract Clubs Bring Clean Water to Aboabu
On September 14, 2024, the small but vibrant community of Aboabu in the Eastern Region witnessed a life-changing event—the inauguration of a borehole that promises to transform their daily lives. This clean water project was the result of a powerful collaboration between the Rotary Club of Accra West, Rotary Club of Turlock (California), and several Rotaract Clubs, including the Rotaract Club of Accra-East Legon, Rotaract Club of Ashesi University, and Rotaract Club of Tema Meridian.
The project was part of a broader mission to provide sustainable water solutions to underserved communities across Ghana. Access to clean water is a fundamental right, yet many communities like Aboabu still struggle with limited or unsafe water sources. Through the collective efforts of these Rotary and Rotaract Clubs, the dream of clean water became a reality for the people of Aboabu.
The event was not just about the provision of water but about fostering hope and resilience in the community. Local leaders, club members, and community residents gathered to witness the official handover of the borehole. The atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude as the community celebrated this essential resource that will now serve hundreds of families, improving their health, sanitation, and overall quality of life.
